2008 Vietnam Conformity Assessment Conference
  (2008/05/15)
The ties between the United States and Vietnam have never been stronger. And the outlook for the future is bright. Vietnam, with its rapidly-developing markets and strong GDP growth is experiencing a historic transition as it’s products and populace engage the markets. Of the population of 80 million, one-half are under thirty years old. This new generation represents a vanguard of change and opportunity for US companies willing to make the investment.

But what are the opportunities for the Testing and Conformity Assessment Community? The increasing sophistication of the market is driving the development of increasingly-sophisticated needs for products and services. As Vietnamese products grow in the worlds markets, the requirements for product evaluation, safety, and standard grows. Domestically, the need for product conformance, energy, environmental and infrastructure development are enormous. Here lie the opportunities for US companies to become engaged. And the time is ripe for cooperation and participation in the Standards-Making process.

The 2008 Vietnam Conformity Assessment Conference addresses the critical needs of the Vietnamese industry. The goal is to share and support in the development of the regulatory, testing, evaluation and product approval process with colleagues in the Vietnamese government, trade and product development sectors. The conference is organized to support the Vietnamese industry and give critical insight to US firms seeking to operate and development the Vietnamese domestic market for their own products and services.

Participation

With the support of the Directorate for Standards and Quality (STAMEQ), we are seeking Track Sponsors to address the following critical areas: Energy and the Environment, Pharmaceuticals & Chemical, Product Qualification: Foods and Electronics and Infrastructure. The opportunities for willing and progressive companies are extensive as Vietnam works to satisfy the requirements of membership in the World Trade Organization (WTO).

Track sponsors will take the lead in assembling the materials for presentation to the audiences in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. The opportunities for connection to potential partners, government regulators and produces and factories are a primary benefit of participation.
